Lindsey Galvao is an educator, writer, and community organizer committed to dismantling white supremacy and systems of oppression. Lindsey graduated cum laude from Northwestern University with a BA in History and earned her MA in History from Brown University. She has worked in private and independent schools, as well as in the public sector. Throughout her teaching career in grades 5-12, Lindsey has developed curriculum and instruction aimed at providing teachers and students the tools and language to understand the history of racism in America. She has also piloted several local programs and events with non-profits and other business partners to increase civic engagement and antiracism efforts in the surrounding communities. Lindsey firmly believes that racial equity happens through a three-pronged approach of developing genuine interracial friendships, improving educational curriculum and programming, and changing our legal system.
